So far, 2021 has brought about a slew of interesting beauty products that have pleasantly surprised me for their efficiency and effectiveness. Here’s just a few that have made my list. Do you have any of these or others you’d like to share? If so, I would love to hear what you think in the comments below!
As always, you can see my in depth thoughts and swatches in the video below the post!
If you’re looking for a primer that can both control shine and fill-in pores, you’re in luck! Shiseido WASO does both beautifully. With only a pinch, your skin stays matte while remaining hydrated. Forget those paste-like pore-filling primers! This one is super lightweight on the skin. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much you’ll be using this product.
This limited-edition lip balm offers a matte finish actually hydrates your lips. It has bamboo fibers that create a soft diffused, blurred effect that looks amazing and lasts for a decent amount of time for a balm-type product.
After having a disastrous experience with another indie-razor brand last year, I was skeptical about Billie. But unlike its competitor, Billie actually delivers a close, clean shave that leaves my skin soft and smooth. Their clean shave razor has five sharp blades surrounded on all sides by a charcoal soap that ensures a nick-free shave. Plus, I never have to worry about running out of blades because they just show up at my door – and for a truly economical price too!
This foundation hydrates your skin while providing natural, medium, soft-radiant coverage that feels lightweight. It’s also long-wearing, vegan, and cruelty free. I think this is a great dupe for Urban Decay Hydromaniac Foundation, which I also surprisingly loved. What else can you ask for?
Although these are technically not beauty products, a good sleep is pretty much necessary for us to look and feel our best. Bose Sleepbuds II’s patented noise-masking technology (not to be confused with noise-blocking technology…there’s a ton of info on their site!) ensures a deep sleep while you relax and listen to over 50 meditative sounds from Bose’s sleep app. It also has a customized in-ear alarm that will only wake you up and not your bedmate if you have one.
Although musks are sometimes infamously known for being too heavy, Kayali offers a light, feminine musk with hints of vanilla, jasmine, and lavender. Its overall light feel is the perfect scent for spring.
If your skin is suffering from surface dehydration and flakiness or just feels parched, this mask can give you the deep hydration you need. Plus it contains essential nutrients that alleviate signs of aging and loss of firmness and texture. I love that it’s not greasy or heavy and can be mixed with products I currently use.
Now you know which products to look out for! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts below!!
