We all have products that we can’t live without. So, this year, I made a complete list of my ride or die makeup products, from primer all the way to setting spray. Most of these are products I’ve been using for years and some I discovered this year but already can’t live without!
You can see the full video below. And as always, all products shown and worn are listed in the description box.
FACE
Bronzer & Contour
D-Bronzi is a multipurpose holy grail product for me. It’s not only a bronzer. I have used this in different ways, from mixing it with foundations that are too light to mixing it into skincare. I also use the Marc Jacobs Bronzer a lot because of its neutral color. It gives a warm look without being too orange-y.
The sculpting powder I use most is the Kevin Aucoin Medium Sculpting Powder. It provides the perfect shade of contour to give you that shadow look you need.
Concealer
The Too Faced Born This Way is a multi-purpose concealer that can give you full coverage and is good for daytime as well as special events at night. If you don’t want full coverage and want a skin-like concealer, the Dior Forever Skin Correct (2N) is perfect for you in providing you coverage for your daily look.
I also want to include the NARS (Canelle) here because this is a face concealer that I use often. I don’t use it under my eyes like the other ones because it’s a little bit dry but, it settles beautifully on the face.
Powder
The all-in-one face and eyes setting powder that I use is the Nikkia Joy Setting Powder. This finely milled and 100% translucent powder works on all skin types. It’s beautiful and natural and can control shine longer than any powder I’ve tried.
For under eye setting powder, Pat McGrath Under Eye Powder has replaced all the others for me. Personally, I don’t like anything tinted under my eyes that can change my concealer shade so I use the lightest shade because of its translucent quality.
And for the last step of my makeup, the finishing powder I often use is the MAC MSFN (Medium Plus). It makes everything look airbrushed without looking or feeling powdery and heavy.
Palette
Smashbox Face Palette is the perfect palette because you can use this on the face and even the eyes. It’s an all-in-one travel-friendly palette. The shades they have on here from contour to highlight to blush are all stunningly beautiful.
Blush
The Tom Ford Blush in the shade inhibition is one that I reach for on any occasion. It is so flattering on any skin tone because of the perfect combination of rose and peach.
Highlighter
The Laura Mercier Highlight 01 has the champagne shade that I prefer. It can give you a variety of looks from subtle to beaming depending on how you want it to look.
Setting Spray
Since filming this video, I’ve discovered a new Holy Grail setting spray. The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray is the most perfect one I’ve found thus far. It fuses my makeup together so it looks airbrushed and makes it budgeproof under a mask, yet it doesn’t change the finish of my makeup or make me too dewy. Best of all? It contains no alcohol!
Primer
The Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer has been my holy grail primer for a long time because it’s so great at smoothing out pores and controlling oil. It’s a lotion type primer that you can pair with any foundation. It’s water repellant and does a great job at keeping your makeup intact even on hot days.
EYES
Primer
The Hourglass Eye Primer works really well with blending out eyeshadows and it doesn’t change the texture or shade of the eyeshadow. I don’t have to set it with a powder in order for shadow to apply smoothly or not crease either.
Brows
I also use the Hourglass Brow Pencil in the shade Ash for my brows. I’m able to mimic brow hairs easily with this one because of its slim shape and get a more natural look.
Eyeshadow
The cream/liquid eyeshadow I love using is the Armani Eye Tint especially the shades Cold Copper and Rose Gold. These two shades are flattering on so many skin tones and are easy to work with.
I have two go-to eyeshadow palettes and both of these have neutral colors in different ways.
The Natasha Denona Biba gives you everything you need for a neutral look from cool to warm.
While the Persona Identity palette has a variety of shimmers that provides special nighttime looks that the other one lacks.
Eyeliner
For the eyeliner, I recommend Urban Decay 24/7 Liner Demolition shade. I find it versatile because it gives a deep smoke-y charcoal brown color that works well with warm and cool shades.
Mascara
Hourglass Caution gives me thick, voluminous, long lashes that look good on any occasion and it doesn’t smudge or flake even if I apply many coats. On the lower lashes, I prefer the MAC Gigablack because of its fiber formula. It also comes with a fine wand which makes application a lot easier.
LIPS
Lipliner
The Pat McGrath Permagel lip liner has the perfect lip liner formula. It has a thick and creamy texture that can fill in lip lines and last long.
Lipstick
For my ride or die lipstick, I chose Urban Decay Vice lipsticks. The price is great for the quality. They have various formulas to choose from, from matte to glossy. Personally, I love the shades Naked, Ex-Girlfriend and Lovelight. But I do have to mention that I have another holy grail lipstick of all time which is the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in the shade Bitch Perfect.
My ultimate favorite budge proof lipstick is Chanel Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue. You can see me talk about it in my recent video. There is nothing that compares for staying on (even under a mask) and keeping your lips moisturized. This is not your typical liquid lipstick!
Lipgloss
And for lipgloss, I chose Persona’s Gloss collection. I love the flat applicator it comes with and the shades they have are perfect to pair with any lipstick or even to wear alone. It’s just a fantastic formula that shouldn’t be overlooked!
