Today I’m showing you 4 drugstore makeup dupes that beat their high end counterparts! This is part one in a THREE part drugstore makeup dupes series. Stay tuned for parts two and three! These days, there are SO many great affordable makeup products, you don’t need to spend top dollar to get great quality!
In my recent YouTube video, I showed 12 tested drugstore makeup dupes that truly rival their high end counterparts and based on your comments, you agree! So, tell me…which side do YOU think is the dupes side? A or B? (The answer is within this post!)

In this post, I’ll share 4 of the 12 drugstore makeup dupes I’ve tested. To see ALL of them at once, you can see the video here (the product details and links are in the description box over on YouTube as well) or stay tuned for the upcoming posts!
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation vs. Flower Beauty Light Illusion Foundation
These are NOT the foundations I’m wearing in the photo. (Stay tuned for the ones I’m wearing in the weeks to come!!) I do show the ones from the photo in my video though! Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation is one of my top favorite foundations of all time and is in several of my top foundations videos. It gives such a beautiful demi-matte finish to the skin that’s not too too glowy if you have combination or oily skin. It also softly diffuses the skin. Magic Foundation has a great wear time, feels good on the skin and seems to be suited to all skin types.

I’ve heard Flower Beauty Light Illusion compared to other foundations but not the Charlotte Tilbury. I can’t figure out why because to me this is a no-brainer. I describe them to people the exact same way. If you’re looking for a beautiful, skin perfecting foundation that doesn’t break the bank, try Flower Beauty Light Illusion.

Too Faced Sculpting Concealer vs. L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer
If you’re looking for a drugstore alternative to the Too Faced Born This Way Multi-use Sculpting Concealer, I’ve worn these two side by side several times and they perform and look the same when set and un-set.

A few things to note first: I’m in my mid-40s and have dark circles, dry under eyes (despite having an oily t-zone) and have texture underneath my eyes. I hydrate my under eye area well prior to makeup application. I have to set my under eye concealer since I crease directly underneath my eyes.

The Too Faced looks so beautiful underneath my eyes, gives fantastic coverage, never emphasizes texture and wears beautifully.
I’ve heard others compare the L’Oreal to Tarte Shape Tape. But since Tarte Shape Tape is a bit too drying for me and heavier than I normally like, I just don’t reach for it anymore. Every time I’ve worn the L’Oreal, I feel it’s spot-on in terms of coverage, texture, and wear to my beloved Too Faced Sculpting. Some have disagreed with me and say it’s not as hydrating. I’ll reiterate that I hydrate my under eye area well prior to makeup application. So when I wear these…even when wearing one under my left and the other under my right eye…they look, feel and wear the same. You can see this in the top photo and in my video,
For the cost, it can’t hurt to try it the way I do and see if it works for you too!

Urban Decay Perversion (Waterproof) vs. Covergirl Exhibitionist (Waterproof)
Both of these mascaras are fairly new to both brands. I got both of the Urban Decay Perversion and Covergirl Exhibitionist waterproof mascaras right around the same time at the beginning of the summer. I can attest to the fact that they’re both extremely waterproof. I’ve swam in both extensively. Neither ran, smudged or flaked. They’re both also very black.

To top it off, I feel like they give the same effect on my lashes! They keep them curled all day while giving them volume and length. That’s pretty much what I look for in a mascara. The Urban Decay packaging is by far fancier than the Covergirl with its textured raised water droplets.
One difference between them is that I feel like the Covergirl has a slightly wetter formula, so I sometimes have to scrape the wand off on the tube to remove excess product. But I do that with tons of mascaras, so this is nothing unusual.
The wands look nothing like one another. In fact I’ve heard the Covergirl compared to Too Faced Better than Sex simply because the wands look similar. I disagree! I don’t like Better than Sex mascara. It’s very “OK” to me. Yet I love both of these mascaras.

I think in terms of performance these two are dead-on with each other. These are two that will definitely be repurchased by me. Yes I will continue to purchase the Urban Decay because I just LOVE IT. Plus Ulta frequently has coupons and specials. And I’ll also keep the Exhibitionist in my rotation. A girl can never have too many fabulous mascaras, right?!
- Urban Decay Perversion Mascara (wp) $24
- Covergirl Exhibitionist (wp) $10.99
Becca Sunlit Bronzer vs. L’Oreal Bronze Please
Two bronzers i LOVE using during the summertime to enhance a beautiful bronzed glow are Bronzed Bondi and Capri Coast from Becca. Bronzed Bondi is described as a medium amber and definitely has just enough red to it to fake that sunkissed bronzed look. Capri Coast is a warm golden brown that seems to flatter so many of us with medium to light skin tones. I love that Becca Sunlit Bronzers have a lovely sheen to them yet aren’t sparkly or glittery.

Top to Bottom: L’Oreal • Capri Coast • Bronzed Bondi
The first time I tried L’Oreal Bronze Please, it immediately reminded me of the two aforementioned bronzers. The texture, application and finish is spot on! The shade I have is 03 Amalfi which falls somewhere in between Capri Coast and Bronozed Bondi. There are three other shades, so if you’re wanting to experiment, you have shade options.

Right: L’Oreal Bronze Please in Amalfi
When I applied the Becca bronzers to my face for my dupes video, I mixed the two, with a little more concentration on the Capri Coast. The dupes are on the right and the luxury/high end products are on the left. As you can see in the photo above, they look the same! I really feel like the effect is the same with both of these bronzers!
- Becca Sunlit Bronzer $38
- L’Oreal Bronze Please $14.98
