This eye makeup tutorial focuses on lining deep set, downturned or hooded eyes without using liquid eyeliner. Doing an everyday wing on these challenging eye types can be difficult. This will help you nail that wing with ease! Using shadow as liner is a softer look which is much more wearable for most of us on an everyday basis. I find this to be true especially as I get older.
So if you’re not a YouTuber and have challenging eyes to work with, this series is for you! This continues my theme from the Tarte Shape Tape video I did in January, ” How to apply Tarte Shape Tape if You’re Not a YouTuber “:
The response to that video has been so great. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy the various shadow and liner looks and techniques I do throughout this ongoing eye series. These are all challenges I’m hearing from you that you face and that I’ve faced for 20-something years. I’m going to be sharing things that work (and don’t work for me). This particular video focuses on easy wing liner for hooded eyes or downturned or deepset eyes. I hope you enjoy!

This was a very good video. I’m still struggling to get some light to my eyes. They are small, deep set and hooded. I’m wondering if I’m in the wrong color family. What’s your thoughts on nude pink v.s. nude corals for this issue?
Hi Donna,
Color selection really has to do with your undertones, eye color and overall coloring rather than your eye shape. The best way for me to see how things truly look is to try things out and then take a selfie in natural lighting. If I look washed out or tired, it’s not a good look for me! 🙂
