The Battle of the Tarte Concealers?

The Battle of the Tarte Concealers?

This week I’m comparing Tarte Shape Tape and Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer has been my holy grail for years ever since I discovered it. It covers my super dark circles beautifully and doesn’t settle into lines or look dry and crepey as the day goes on.

Over the years I’ve tried tons of concealers. It seems that if they covered well, they wore off quickly or they looked cakey. I can’t tell you how many I tossed in the trash or gave away because they wouldn’t even come close to covering my dark circles well enough. Enter Tarte.

Shape Tape

I’ve been hearing about Shape Tape for weeks now. People love this stuff. Seriously love. But do they have little fine lines? Is there any chance these people will look 10 years older if they set it with powder? I keep seeing it compared to NARS and Urban Decay but not to its own brand of fab concealer. So let’s do this.

Color Matching

I initially note that there is no color match for Maracuja Creaseless in Light Medium Sand. So I have to mix Light and Light Medium. This is a ding for Shape Tape because I really like that big applicator.

UPDATE: They’ve added some new shades. I’m now using Light Medium Honey as the peach tones really help counter the blue/purple tones under my eyes. You can see more swatches of my under eye concealers in this post.

But it glides on easily and sets quickly and looks pretty darned good. It seems to wear well too. So far I’m pretty impressed. For full review and details see the video below. I may actually like this stuff!
